I found the following steps the most effective when it comes to real digital marketing that brings in real results. 

For instance, step 3 can boost your Google rankings by the millions with the right tweaks to your website. 

In this “short” article you’ll find only steps that work and in the order, I like to implement them to see almost immediate results.

I like to use the SMART framework for my digital marketing. 

SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. This way we can keep track and stay on top of things. 

Ask yourself, what do you want to achieve? 

Is it brand awareness, lead generation, increased sales, or customer retention? 

With a clear vision of your goals, you can align your digital marketing efforts accordingly.

2 Understand Your Target Audience

Understanding your target audience is so important! 

Identify their demographics, interests, and pain points. This knowledge will give you an edge when it comes to creating personalized and relevant content that resonates with them, leading to better engagement and conversions.

3 Include Search Engine Optimization (SEO):

Especially for the most effective type of marketing, inbound marketing, search engine optimization is crucial. It will help your audience find you when actively searching for the products or services you have to offer. 

By optimizing your website and content for search engines, you can improve your organic rankings and drive targeted traffic. There are two types of SEO: the SEO on your site and the SEO off of your site. Both are important and when correctly implemented will bring plenty of benefits to your online presence.

On page SEO 

On-page SEO practices include: 

  1. Keyword optimization: 

Research and strategically incorporate relevant keywords into the page’s title tag, headings, meta description, URL, and content. 

  1. High-quality content: 

Create unique, informative, and engaging content that addresses the user’s search intent. Long-form content to provide comprehensive information and naturally incorporate relevant keywords usually works best. 

Meta tags optimization: 

Include the meta title and meta description to accurately describe the page’s content. It will entice users to click through to your website from search engine results. 

Simple URL structure: 

Clean and user-friendly URLs that include relevant keywords provide a clear indication of the page’s content. The URL should possibly be something like

Header tags: 

Utilize header tags (H1, H2, H3, etc.) to structure the content and highlight important sections. Use the H tags to style and order your content, so that it’s easy to read for humans and crawlers alike.

Optimized Images: 

Resize images to fit the planned space on your page, then compress them to reduce their overall size this will greatly improve page loading speed. Do not forget to give your images descriptive names, add alternative text, and provide concise image content descriptions, Google will like it and will reward it .giving your site better rankings.

Internal linking: 

Include relevant internal links within your content to guide users to other relevant pages on your website, this will result in improved site navigation for your visitors, will also help Google better understand and map your site, and will distribute link authority.

Mobile optimization: 

Make sure your web pages are optimized for mobile devices, in today’s world people are searching the internet on their cell phones. Responsive design techniques will ensure a seamless user experience (UX) across all possible screen sizes.

Page speed optimization: 

Optimize your web page’s loading speed by minimizing file sizes (like the images above), leveraging browser caching, and optimizing code. Faster loading times improve UX and positively impact search engine rankings. 

User experience (UX): 

For a better user experience, make your web pages easy to navigate, visually appealing, and accessible, and have a clear and intuitive site structure, logical content organization, and intuitive navigation.

People consume content on the internet for 1 of 3 reasons, to be educated, entertained, or to find a solution to their problems. If you offer them what they are looking for, you build trust and establish yourself as an authority in your industry.

Consistency is the key: 

Regularly publishing content to maintain a consistent presence online, whether it’s blog posts, videos, podcasts, or social media updates, will help you keep your audience engaged and will increase brand recall.
